Any news item that starts off: Deputy Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway wants urban youths to improve their image by hiking up their pants. But a local hip-hop artist is using homophobia as a tool to get that message across. ... is bound to anger and intrigue. For instance, Dooney da' Priest's new rap song associates low-slug pants with being "on the down-low." Anything that will get the pants pulled up.

The sight of pants being worn like this conjures up visions of cartoon characters. Perhaps something out of a Popeye cartoon. My thoughts wander toward, "I wonder how they managed to pick such an ugly pair of underwear?" Or, "I wonder when's the last time they changed their underwear?" Or anyone stupid enough to dress like that, I wonder when they took their last bath.
In my day it was bellbottoms and long hair. We weren't trying to be stupid, but I'm sure some (Like Harvey Gough from Goff's Hamburgers) thought we were. Does this mean I've become Harvey? Where the hell do I get a statue of Lenin?

Yes, Gay people should keep they're pants up - Why you worried about how I wear my clothes, you don't care about anything else I do. "Land of the Free" I buy the clothes, I wear the clothes

I think this is typical of the hip hop community and part of the conservative African American community. Throw gay folks under the bus. Very typical and predictable.

My husband and I think the song is fine and intend to send a link to our 17-year old son to post on his My Space page.

Why is it that just about EVERYTHING these days has to offend a certain group, or simply be taken out of its intended context?? The message of the song is "PULL YOUR PANTS UP", not "I HATE GAYS".
Come on people- the man had a message; a great one at that. Take it for what it is, not what it isn't.
Kind of catchy, I think...

i believe pants should be worn correctly, because they were made to fit to the body.they way you dress,is how you feel.
And who are.
