![]() All I wanted was to see the award-winning apricot preserves in peace. (Jim Mahony / DMN) I took the day off yesterday with my boyfriend to do the State Fair thing, and the first thing I thought as we approached downtown was, "WHO or WHAT could be causing all this traffic?! It's a Monday!" We decided it was because everyone was off for Columbus Day and had a holiday hankering for fried peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. Then in the swine and horse barns, I kept wondering why it sounded like 20,000 preteen girls across the fairgrounds were shrieking their heads off. Ends up, it was because there were 20,000 preteen girls shrieking their heads off. I'd forgotten about the cutie patootie trio Jonas Brothers show. No wonder I kept seeing 12-year-olds wearing love-proclaiming t-shirts like "Chelsea-n-Nick" and "Marry me Nick!" There were plenty of resilient parents in attendance dealing with the situation quite admirably more admirably than me. The combined assault of wet, hyper teenagers who've been playing in the founatins, the screams, the impossibly thick crowd, the poppy emo and the humidity were enough to decide that I'd had enough State Fair for one day. Did you attend the Fair yesterday and witness the concert, whether on purpose or on accident? What did you think? Read our review of the concert, or read our story about the craziness. I was oneeee of those screaming fans =D It was AMAZINGG!! Me and 5 of my friends [with 2 moms] got there FOUR hours early to get good seatss!! Sure, it was definitely miserable for awhile being packed in like sardines in million degree weather... [and it doesnt help that i'm soo short for my age] but once the concert started, I knew it was ALL worth it!! I'm sorry, but you CANT say that they are not GORGEOUSSS!! especially in person! Also, they had huge hoses so we were soakedddd and not as hot! SO. in all, i think it was the best concert i've ever been to in my LIFE! :]
personally,
i love the brothers.
seriously.
i didnt get to go to the concert, because garland isd's fair day was LAST week. so it stunk :(
but i can tell you from past jonas brother concerts that i have been to, those kids know how to rock the stage. no joke. :)
I went to that concert with my kids I thought it was clean cool music to listen to. It was worth the traffic.
I've been a fan of their music since early last year. They are amazing performers, therefore I wasn't going to miss out on this concert!
I have to admit though, it was pretty crazy. I was getting shoved by moms and I even got elbowed by two dads. It was definitely not like the Rowlett concert in June. But then again, I was front row in Rowlett.
Overall I though the concert was fantastic. The boys know how to put on a spectacular show and watching them finally do that "G&G" dance live was the highlight of my day.
I only wish they could have done the water in intervals because my phone and camera got wet. Luckily the eventually started working again after I dried them out for a couple of hours.
