The Bon Jovi concert was awesome. Jon Bon Jovi was like the energizer bunny on stage. Lots of energy, tight sets. Richie Sambora rocked on his solo "I'll be there for you" and got the capacity crowd really going. Jon came back for the encore wearing a Dallas Desparados shirt, which was kinda funny since he owns the Philly arena football team. Very nice.
Daughtry was equally impressive. He has an awesome back up band and is very talented despite being an american idol reject. Just goes to show you, people who watch that junk don't know anything about real talent.

I don't know if anyone remembers but he owns a arena footbal team in Phili. He made a comment a few years ago that he detestated walking on the ground in Dallas- He hated the desparatos and the cowboys and the ground they walk on(due your history here)---he said it) now he is here taking you money, your loving it I am not a fan anymore I did not go to the show or will buy his music. If he can be bias then so can I!!!!

The whole show was amazing. Everytime I see Bon Jovi, they just get better (and they were great in the eighties). Their voices were strong, it was easy to sing along, and the music rocked. I was also impressed with the video screens behind the band, that opened up like mini blinds, came together as a giant screen, and turned sideways - man, I love a great production like this! Daughtry was a terrific opening act who earned their own acclaim, and I would go see them again, just as I've done with Bon Jovi since they were Ratt's opener way back when. A+++

Saw them in 1986 when they opened for Scorpions in El Paso, Texas. Saw them in Vegas on Saturday followed them to Dallas Monday, what a show. Too bad the money ran out. Bon Jovi justs gets better every year. Hoping I can get to see them at Madison Square Garden in July.

Having seen the band 8 times now and a long time fan I have to say this was one of the worst CONCERTS I have ever seen. How many times can JBJ slow down the tempo and expect people to be into it. In past shows he has left the slow stuff for the CD's and rocked. The last two tours he has brought songs like Roses and Memory into the mix - fine if it is early in the show but don't stop and start the crowd. Bad set list. Was up high and watched people just stand there instead of dancing and havin fun- Might be the last time he gets my money.

I will always be a Bon Jovi fan!! The band is phenomenal. You get more than your money's worth with every show. It was the best time ever!!! Bon Jovi ROCKS!!!

I've seen Bon Jovi 4 times they are still amazing after all these years.
Posted by RogerW @ 8:44 AM Tue, Apr 15, 2008
Production Quality was great. But the 47 slow songs in a row put me to sleep. Come on Jon, can't you play rock and roll anymore. Enough of the sappy power ballads

First time concert, long time admirerer. The show was awesome!!! I was very pleased with the whole show, Daughtry was great too.

1 word AMAZING. They did a great job. The crowd was rocking the whole night.

It was my first Bon Jovi concert. Daughtry was super and Bon Jovi was awesome! I was surprised how much energy they put into the conert - 2 1/2 hours! They rocked!

Seems only yesterday Bon Jovi played Nick's Uptown (shuttered Greenville Avenue club). Then, they "up-sized" to Tarrant County Convention Center opening for Ratt. Great show! To say Jon Bon's come a long way since then would be an understatement.

The show was amazing!!! Kept the crowd dancing all night! My first show with him, certainly not the last. Great work with the shout out to the in-house football stars, but what about saying hey to the Dallas Stars and their 2-0 playoff record? Sheesh man. Oh well, I still love you. You are amazing!

Concert was amazing! Bon Jovi was great and I enjoyed every minute of it. Slow songs and all!!!
Posted by AlleyAlex @ 9:31 AM Tue, Apr 15, 2008
The concert was incredible! Jon and the guys have such energy and they deliver a wonderful show everytime. I saw them in AAC for their last tour and it was just as impressive. This show had much better screens though, but we didn't need them since we were on the floor in section 10, two rows from the stage! To get great seats, get in the Jon Bon Jovi fan club!

Enjoyed the following:
Jon Bon Jovi in general, maracas and black vest and all.
Shout-outs for Romo and Witten, even if JBJ couldn't quite bring himself to give the Cowboys one.
The little girl in front of me who was doing some very enthusiastic Abigail Breslin-in-Little-Miss-Sunshine-style dancing.
We were sitting in the back row of the third level (that would be the very top). A dad in the row right in front of us joked with the kids, "Hey, at least we aren't sitting up there."
The guy who looked wistfully (and possibly somewhat drunkenly at the T-shirt stand on the way out and said, "I drank my T-shirt."

Jon Bon Jovi will always be a rock star. He never quits even since early 80's. The whole band is awesome and very cordial when meeting them in person. Awesome show!!

What a night! What a show! Bon Jovi continues to deliver an awesome night of entertainment. He stays on for the whole show and we did not want the night to end
Posted by TS @ 10:08 AM Tue, Apr 15, 2008
First time to see BJ... was "dragged" by my wife. Better than expected... a big formulatic and too rehearsed for my preference. Especially after seeing Springsteen the night before.
On the other hand... I have no clue what anyone sees in that Daughtry band??? They are what you get if you have a "casting call" for a band. No chemistry
Casting Director: "Okay... we need a guy with a mohawk... isn't that cool today"
Producer: "Yes, but don't make him too dirty looking, we want to appeal to the 13-21 year old girls... and their moms
Casting Director: "And then chains. They need chains in the pockets"
Producer: "Yes, and my focus group says that they need to rock their heads like a stereotypical rocker"
Casting Director: "Does it matter that there is no chemisty?"
Producer: "No... not at all... as long as they look good dancing"
If Bruce Springsteen is that dirty, hole-in-the-wall restaurant you love. Then Bon Jovi is that well run chain with consistantly good food. And Daughtry is that tourist trap bar at a Disney resort that does everything the research tells them to do but never attacts the cool folks
Posted by Bobby P @ 10:45 AM Tue, Apr 15, 2008
Creed no wait Daughtry was ok. Yes he is talented but so 1998 and so boaring. BJB having been on stage with the Boss Sunday night you think he would have learned something about putting on a rock and roll show. Ok I understand he needs to promote new songs and can tollerate:
I LOVE THIS TOWN
BLOOD MONEY
WHOLE LOT OF LEAVIN'
OPEN ALL NIGHT
SUMMERTIME
WE GOT IT GOIN' ON
but the show stopping trio of:
I'LL BE THERE FOR YOU - RICHIE VOX
(YOU WANT TO) MAKE A MEMORY
BED OF ROSES
made me want to jump off the upper deck. Do not understand why people thought this was a good concert when a GREAT concert happened on Sunday. NJ should disown JBJ after that poor performance and crappy set list.
Posted by Vince @ 10:45 AM Tue, Apr 15, 2008
Haven't seen Bon Jovi since 1986. I went because a friend of mine had a suite and the night was free. I had low expectations but I must admit I enjoyed myself. Overall the band was tight and the visuals were nice. I didn't care for the cheesy Dancing in the street cover but oh well. I thought Richie Sambora was pretty darn good on guitar. I forgot the dude could actually play. My wife had a good time and she was sure she wouldn't enjoy it.
Posted by AKC @ 10:46 AM Tue, Apr 15, 2008
This was my first Bon Jovi concert and it was awesome! They played a long 2.5 hours and the set list flowed well - a great mix of past and present. If he didn't mix some ballads in I might have passed out from screaming and singing so much. I love that he recognized all of our sports teams during This Town and by wearing the Desparados jersey, especially since he own the Philly Souls. I look forward to the next Bon Jovi concert!
Daughtry was a lot better than I expected. I never paid them much attention but I will now. It was two concerts in one!

Bon Jovi was incredible!! They just get better with time :-) Jon is an amazing entertainer. They played in excess of two hours. We definitely got our moneys worth last night. He could have sang for another hour and we would have stayed. As long as they are performing, I will be attending their concerts

I have seen Jon and Co every time they come through town for the past 20 years and I wouldn't miss it! As a 40+ person I can't imagine going for 2+ hours without a little bit of a slowdown. it doesn't bother me at all. He played 3 of my favorire old songs and I am more than happy. I am not always a fan of the music he is putting out these days but the show is always a treat! Now, Dautry on the other hand? I like his music but watching them play was a total beating and I couldn't wait for it to be over.

Awesome show! I literally have no voice and my hands are sore from clapping! I could have stayed there all night. Daughtry was okay. He sang with his back to the crowd a lot. And he wasn't singing to the people behind him either. Note to the columnist: the title track of Bon Jovi's latest cd and the song they began the night with was Lost Highway, not Lonesome Highway. :-)

This was a 2fer for me this week...
Sunday was Springsteen(which I have to say was excellent!) I enjoyed the Glory Days song with surprise Bon Jovi... It was a hint of things to come...
Back to AAC on monday for Bon Jovi... I have seen a lot of concerts over the years and I have to say that I enjoyed this one IMMENSELY...
I haven't a bad word to say at all... It is now my favorite concert show of the last 2 years... I liked the slow songs, the standards, his getting out in the middle of the audience....
Ritchie Sambora's quitar work... Wowsers...
Really what was not to like????
(ps... I know this football country, but really who cares about the football stuff...This is a ROCK concert... The music is the thing... )

The show rocked!!!! I agree with what the person said earlier! Two concerts in one! I've been a huge fan of Bon Jovi for years..and have been a huge fan of Chris and his band Daughtry from the get go!! Both bands equally impressive!! Will go again and will see Daughtry again as well! Have seen Daughtry 3 times already and they get better and better! Worth every penny! Jon STILL has it and ages like fine wine..and Chris Daughtry definitey has it!! :-)

We partied like it was 1987!!! I reverted back into teenager mode last night...and fulfilled a lifelong dream by finally getting to see them in concert! Was supposed to see them in '87, but came down with mono and my parents wouldn't let me go. Was devastated that I missed the show. Now, 19 years later, saw them in concert and they rocked the house!
JBJ is still as hot as ever, if not hotter! Loved the oldies, especially songs from Slippery When Wet. My older sister & her husband were on the 4th row, and let me and my best friend take over their seats for 15 minutes. That was the highlight of the night! Heard Bad Medicine, It's My Life just 20 feet away from the stage. Awesome experience!!!!!
Posted by RockerBabe @ 5:49 PM Tue, Apr 15, 2008
Having been on the Front Row, CENTER, it was the best concert I have been to. Danced and screamed the whole time for Bon Jovi, hence I have no voice today!!!
Obviously they still "got it goin' on...."
Yea Baby....

I went to see Bon Jovi on there last tour in town and left home with a big smile on my face. I got a handshake when Jon was on the side stage. This time around I've made it a second job to try and score the perfect tickets in the same area so I can this time experience maybe the girl he grabbed to go up on his platform. I got similar seats but a few rows away. Still, got great pics. The show was awesome and I am very impressed on stage production. I read it cost round $6mill for the amazing never that I have seen set up. It was a great show and we got our $560 worth!

This was my first time to a Bon Jovi concert. I was so pleased! Bon Jovi Rocks,He was everything I imagined! I had a great time. I hope to see him again. I have to admit I was soooooo jealous of the girl who got up there and danced with him. Hope she's happy!!Anyway the whole night was great! I've always admired him since he first got started. I'm a Jersey girl and can't believe it took me this long. Love ya always Jon.!!!!! By the way Daughtry rocked the show as well. One word for the whole night,"AMAZING".

My 4th time seeing The Boys...best show so far, which is pretty amazing since I thought the end-all, be-all perfect concert was the last night of their Have a Nice Day Tour at Giants Stadium in 7/2006 (3 1/2 hours!!!) They still got it -- and by the way, what's wrong with going to a concert to HAVE FUN??? All the critics slamming the "predictable" show should just lighten up and chill! When it comes to a rockin' good time, you won't find better than Bon Jovi. See ya again real soon, boys.

Seems to be lots of Jovi comments & not enough Daughtry comments! My #1 reason for attending this show was Daughtry. They were amazing...not a 'casting call' type of band! & chemistry...I don't know how you couldn't feel that amazing bond between those guys! Well...I guess if you're an old-timer you just don't get it! Daughtry rocks!

I have listened to Jon and the boys for 25 years now! I have seen them every time they come to town. I wish your reporters would give the band the review that they deserve. The whole band is extremely talented and just get better with age. They have their own style and their songs are everlasting! They are very involved in Habitat for Humanity, and are helping America's homeless. Next time Bon Jovi comes to town I hope this newspaper will look pass all the screaming women and Jon's good looks and give the band a glowing review and the RESPECT that they DESERVE!!

Made a memory with Jon Bon! The production was incredible & I was amazed at Jon's energy! One item left out of the previous comments - David & Tico...WOW! Did you see the guns on Tico? You see, it's not the setlist or the good looks..it is the memories you make w/friends & loved ones. If I wanted a "perfect" song list I could have stayed home and listened to CDs in any order. I really enjoyed the show. LOVED Daughtry. I'm a sucker for the underdog rising & winning acclaim. He's cool.
Posted by Bobby P @ 3:54 PM Wed, Apr 16, 2008
A message for Jeannie - you are living in the past if you thought that was a good concert. I have seen JBJ many times all of which blew this concert to pieces. He needs a Mentor like Springsteen to show him how to carry the crowd through the entire show. Watched the majority of the crowd stop clapping and dancing and often sit down. It was boring.
To JC- Daughty - just go buy Creed's first two albums and you have the same thing. He can sing but his songs blow. Very poor stage presence.
Posted by Ken @ 4:11 PM Wed, Apr 16, 2008
Ya know...Jon can't win no matter what he does. I he plays the hits, people complain the set is too predictable. If he pulls out rare songs, only the diehards love it and the casual fan sits there wondering what the song is. To the poster above complaining about the ballads, they are HUGE hits for Bon Jovi and some fans go to hear THOSE songs. So you see, no matter what he plays, someone will complain because it is not their "perfect" setlist. Lighten up and enjoy the show! They always put on a hell of a show, and theor musicianship is by far the best in the world. They are the best live band ever...end of story. They deserve credit where credit is due!

Bon Jovi rocked Dallas!
I first went to a Bon Jovi concert in the 80's and they just get better and better!
Jon...you still got it going on!
Posted by Nat @ 11:19 PM Wed, Apr 16, 2008
The show rocked! 2 1/2 hours! Wow, that's a long time for them to be on stage doing that, night after night! I will go to every show they bring to Dallas, no matter what! My arms are sore 'cause I could never put them down! I just love their music and the variety of songs they sang, from so many different albums! My husband didn't understand what I really saw in the band until I took him to his first show 3 concerts ago in Dallas, now he's almost as big a fan as I am and has stated they put on the best live show out there! btw, the song and cd is Lost Highway, not Lonesome Highway!
Posted by Claudette Landry @ 3:36 PM Thu, Apr 17, 2008
My twelfth time seeing them live; and already I can't wait till the next one. Jon is remarkable - Dave is incomparable - Tico's indescribable - and Richie . . . well, what's to say about such a polished musician as Sambora? He really IS (quote Jon) "the heavyweight champion of the world"!
Posted by Anne @ 3:45 PM Thu, Apr 17, 2008
to bobbyP:
no one was sitting down anywhere near me the entire time, even your so-called boring time (which happened to be one the BEST parts of the show in my opinion) had everyone around me on their feet.
dont know what show you were at, but that crowd was on their feet the ENTIRE time.
Posted by Julie Doolittle @ 4:20 PM Thu, Apr 17, 2008
So, I loved the show. I drove from Santa Fe New Mexico just to see him. The tickets were a birthday gift, as was the ride to Dallas, TX. Considering the fact that I am an avid fan and have been since the early nineties (I know, I know but I am only 28 years old so I can't very well say I loved him since the beginning) and have never seen him in concert before. I stood up in the nose-bleed seats and sang along at the top of my lungs, much to the chagrin of those around me. I did decide that I will pay out the hefty sum in a year or two and be a whole lot closer to the stage, in order for the freshness of the band to fully wash over me. Rock on, Bon Jovi! You never fail to disappoint! Cheers!

I came in from Roswell, N.M. and it was my first time seeing Jon and the guys play their stuff live and I LOVED it! I thought it was an amazing show ... I was up in the third floor, but had a great view of the stage and managed to get some pretty good photos, too.
Definitely a great concert ... I really enjoyed how they played a variety of old and new songs.
I also screamed so much I lost my voice Tuesday!
Posted by annlaura @ 12:01 AM Fri, Apr 18, 2008
First of all, regarding the review: thought it was fine until the GLARING error -- this album is LOST Highway, not LONESOME Highway. Jeez, try checking facts next time.
Other than that -- this was a FANTASTIC show! 4th time now to see Bon Jovi, and I will keep going to their shows as long as they continue to tour. Worth every dollar I paid for the tix. The crowning moment, though, was being blessed by the concert gods to have Jon walk by 4 feet in front of me during Bed of Roses!
(BTW, to the people who didn't like so many ballads -- I REALLY, REALLY wish they would not play THAT version of BOR ever again. The original album version is SOOOOOO much better, and much more powerful. It's on Keep The Faith - give that a listen before you write off that song.)
And Daughtry ROCKED THE HOUSE! The band members have some chemistry to develop, but that only happens over time. The raw talent is absolutely there. The arena was already packed when Daughtry came on -- none of this "trickling in" during the opener and waiting for the "real" band. People were there to see Daughtry, too -- which has not been the case on the last 2 Jovi tours.

Bruce, who? Bon Jovi was awesome! We danced, sang and totally loved the show. I've seen JBJ 4 times in concert, usually from the top of the arena ~ till this year. Well worth every penny. Their music was with me through some very hard times back in the 80's and it thrills me to hear it today. I have a wonderful life and and family. We've raised our kids listening to this band. They are positive, fun and romantic! I wish the local newspaper would give them the review they so richly deserve! I will definitely see them again!

This was my fourth Bon Jovi Concert along with my sister and our daughters who are 22yr. old and 23yr old. To say that we ALL had a blast and loved Bon Jovi's music would be an understatement. The girls in our family are such fans that we try for tickets each time they come to Dallas, but I have to say this was the ultimate. They played songs I have always wanted to hear in concert, and he is still gorgeous to look at!!!
