Nothing against Stevie Ray Vaughan. But if we're re-naming Industrial Boulevard for a Dallas musician, why not T-Bone Walker, the Oak Cliff bluesman who helped popularize the electric guitar in the '40s and set the stage for rock 'n' roll? Or better yet, what about Blind Lemon Jefferson, the blues pioneer who got his start playing street corners in Deep Ellum? |
