Belmont Hotel: A venue with a view

Dallas' most promising concert venue? That's easy. It's the pool-and-lawn area of Oak Cliff's Belmont Hotel, where musicians are backlit by downtown's skyline. Dubbed "Barefoot at the Belmont," the new series includes Austin soul-folk singer Dan Dyer (Thursday), Fastball (June 5) and Bob Schneider (June 26). Bend Studio is the promoter, and hopefully it'll establish the listener-friendly vibe of its indoor gigs: Chatterboxes put a damper on Charlie Sexton's solo set last week.
