According to this story by Jeff Mosier on Dallasnews.com, the Dallas Cowboys are thinking about inaugurating its new $1.1 billion (with a 'b', folks; Jerry J. won't let you forget that) stadium in Arlington with a three- or four-day series of concerts in the summer of 2009. Though nothing's even close to being booked, here are some names that were run by Mr. Mosier by a booking expert who specializes in large stadium shows: Bruce Springsteen, Jimmy Buffet and Kenny Chesney (oh, what will Pizza Hut Park do next year if that happens?), Madonna, Prince, Metallica, and Miley Cyrus with the Jonas Brothers. Yep: it'd be world class. But it'd likely cost many millions just to pay the artists, you know. Would it be worth it to pay hundreds (if not well into four figures) to see such an act and be among the first to experience an event at Jerryworld? Who would you like to see the Cowboys book next summer? Archived Comments |

I heard a few months ago that it could be Zeppelin. At least that way, the group's legendary status, their paycheck and Jerry Jones' ego would all be the same.
Ginormous.
I'm from Arlington, so don't even get me started on Jerryworld. But your question was about the music, so yeah, I might see a big show there. But only if the tickets aren't as expensive as the game seats are going to be. And if they've finished the roads in time. Not worth the angst otherwise.
OMG if Zeppelin comes to Arlington I will absolutely fall out from glee.
I would like to see Jessica Simpson perform at the new stadium.
Let's hope famed musical act "Tony Romo & the Cowboys" perform at the new stadium!!
