The 100 Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time

Rolling Stone, that champion of all things listy, works through the "100 Greatest Guitar Songs of All Time" in its current issue. All of names you would expect -- Clapton, Hendrix, Van Halen, Beck, Santana -- are represented, with Chuck Berry's 1958 classic "Johnny B. Goode" topping the list.
Two of the titans of Texas guitar playing -- Stevie Ray Vaughan and ZZ Top -- also make this list, though it takes a while to get to them. Stevie checks in first at No. 54 covering Hendrix's "Little Wing" and again at No. 66 with "Texas Flood." The Top makes its one an only appearance at No. 74 with "La Grange," the song the magazine calls, "rock's version of the jazz classic 'Cherokee,' a standard for guitarists to show off their chops."
