CD reissues for music geeks like me

d-gates.jpgI dig CD reissues. I'm not talking about the endless re-releases of Miles Davis, Elton John and Bob Dylan albums. I'm talking that obscure (or long forgotten) gem that all of a suddent goes back in print on a shiny compact disc. Enter Wounded Bird Records, the New York-based reissue-only label that digs up long-players you thought would never get transferred to CD. The latest from the Bird: Former Bread frontman David Gates' 1978 solo effort, The Goodbye Girl, and New York R&B singer Jenny Burton's 1983 set In Black and White, which features the jam "Remember What You Like." Most all of the Wounded Bird CDs are available at amazon.com, cduniverse.com and most other online music merchants. Check out the Bird's extensive website. You'll be pleasantly suprised in what you find.
