Ashlee Hewitt ... first of all, what was up with that top she was wearing? It was like a spaghetti strap top, with bandana material, and then just this out-of-nowhere white smock kind of mid section to it.

Sorry, Mario ... no passion, no moxie in her "Ring of Fire." Just a bunch of squeeks, sighs and hiccups - that's not singing.

There was no sustain in her voice; no resonance; no breath support. And her delivery had not one speck of honesty to the lyrics and the song. No conflicted lovelorn dramatic expression.

She's not even a good ingenue. When she flung the guitar behind her back and spread her legs, the only burning ring of fire that came to mind was, perhaps, an unmentionable and unfortunate physical ailment. And Jeffrey Steele talking to Laura and Sophie (two high school teenagers) about a pajama party was like, just, creepy and really inappropriate.

And Jewel, Jewel, Jewel ... could they have pushed her "...Fabulous new album" any harder?

Nancy's all wet (above) and even Ashlee's smokin' hot burnin' ring of fire can't dry her off. I thought, apparently as well as millions of others, she brought it all and who gives a **** about what she was wearing? How shallow. Even her poor rendition of 'bubbly' last week put her in the top two. So where'll she be next week? We know that Nancy won't have that answer.

Nancy- Your comment about Ashlee sounds more like a "Hate Mail" posting... whether you like it or not, most people were more than impressed with her last night. You don't have to be a fan- but bashing a contestant is uncalled for.

Well, now that I think about it. Maybe y'all are right. Maybe everybody should just keep voting "for" those who cannot sing or effectively interpret lyrics. It would be like ... well, it would be like the big business side of Nashville (and unlike the cool side of Nashville). Oh, and that's what the show is called, isn't it "Nashville Star?" See, I just wasn't "getting it," at first. I get it now.

Okay Nancy, please don't speak, because the words that are coming out of your mouth are disturbing.....
I think you are just very jealous, and don't have a life of your own.... Stop bashing people who have much talent and beauty, and start learning to respect the people who aren't afraid to actually get off there butts, and go after their dreams.

I think Ashlee Hewitt is an absolute star, and has fashion, beauty, and a good voice!
if you're going to say something, make it nice.....

NashvilleHype! is VERY biased, but yes, Ashlee Hewitt is a HUGE STAR in every way. And unlike many, she's worked her butt off for years to even get a shot. We're behind her 100%... and pray she does win - she deserves it.

Sounds like Nancy is jealous and resentful because she or someone she knows didn't make it on the show. Let her wallow in her own misery. That's where the hate mail comes from.

I believe Ashlee is a star and she will make a grand performance out of any song they give her. She's a true artist.
