So much fun! Great concert. Great Energy even in the nose bleed seats!

Posted by bill @ 7:16 AM Mon, Jul 14, 2008

AMAZING!
No one was in their seat all night.

A long-time fan of George Michael's, I was once again smitten as he melted my heart with his breathless Careless Whisper. As a married, Christian woman the same age as Mr. Michael, I enjoyed the show every bit as much as the young, gay men seated all around!

The concert was GREAT. He sounded really good and I guess the best song was either Careless Whisper or Freedom 90.

Even though it started 50 minutes late....It was awesome seeing him perform! I had the time of my life. I can't wait to see him again..This time closer!

The whole place was rocking! George definately still has it and won the audience over with hours of singing with one of the best light shows I have ever seen. Love to see that man dance! Hope he comes back soon.

AWESOME SHOW!!! Every song was sung with such meaning!! So what he was late - - he put on one heck of a show AND I am glad he's BACK!!!!! The techno theme was the BEST!! The band's staging was appropriate and his back up singers were terrific!!!! George Michael - we love you in Dallas!!!!!!! Thank you for putting on a FANTASTIC performance and show!!!!

I was lucky enough to be at the concert last night and I can say with all honesty, that George Michael ROCKED! He hasn't lost his appeal or that gorgeous voice at all. I just hope he doesn't stay away this long again.

I hope George Michael is around for another 25 years - the show was absolutely awesome! I wish GM nothing but the best.

With his subtle and lethargy appearance at "American Idol" awhile ago...I was quivering thinking he would appear so at this concert. But NAYE! He proved to be as energetic as he could be; even after 17 yrs. I liked the fact that he noticed the crowd's less enthusiastic response to his 1 or 2 of his newer songs and quickly reverted to the oldies. The three hours he promised? Well, we'll excuse him and blame that on London's time difference. Next time we may be able to gather enough courage and boo him...

What a man and what a voice great show without a douth.

I've been to many concerts, but none with the electricity and energy - and WOW factor - of George's July 13 Concert at AAC in Dallas. The fans didn't let up one minute in their shouting and singing along with him, and it was obvious that every person in the audience was absolutely loving George's performance. It was the best ever!!!!

Posted by Lee @ 9:26 AM Mon, Jul 14, 2008

I really do not like concerts. Too many people,
spilled beer, parking, etc. Last night George
Michael changed all that. In the middle of the
concert he asked if we would forgive him and
the crowd roared YES. He has God given talent
and he used it to the delight of everyone at
American Airlines Stadium. I enjoyed it
tremendously and thank him for the wonderful
entertainment and life long memories I will have
from his superb show. Thank you Michael.

Mr. Michael delivered everything I could have hoped as a fan - great stage presence, fabulous songs and dance moves that I remembered as well as a several shoutouts to Dallas. I was shocked when the audience did the wave prior to the concert start but I happily joined in. George - we love you and always will!

Posted by Danny Miller @ 9:30 AM Mon, Jul 14, 2008

I was angry at the late start but after he got going it was great. We danced our butts off.

Posted by Michael @ 9:47 AM Mon, Jul 14, 2008

The late start was forgiven, only because of 2 encores and the fact that "Freedom 90" was finally performed. I thoroughly enjoyed myself and for me the crowd was energetic, fun, and pleased as well.

Posted by Karen Ehlers @ 10:02 AM Mon, Jul 14, 2008

I personally thought it sucked - all glitz, no substance. But, I was in the cheap seats and the continual assault of video was very hard on the eyes and ears up there. It got to be a chore to even find him on the stage.

His first set was 50 minutes and THEN he took a 20 minute break - what kind of crap was that?

And really, no one and I mean NO ONE should ever cover Roberta Flack's "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face" - his version was deplorable.

And the fact that he showed up an hour late and he lives IN DALLAS wasn't exactly professional either.

Honestly, the best part of the night were the encores. When he stopped trying so hard being something he wasn't.

Posted by CL @ 10:18 AM Mon, Jul 14, 2008

Albeit I agee that he put on a greatshow, as one of his fans that have followed his career for the last 25 years, I was frankly put off by the fact that our tix said 8:00 pm prompt, and George found it acceptable to keep us waiting for an hour, found it a tad arrogant actully. Even more insulting was that he made reference to the climate in Dallas and that he had been in Dallas for three days. Three days, and you can't manage to get yourself to a show on time, 15 minutes late, okay, but an hour? -- No excuse. Hey, if U2 can show up time, I think George could do the same. Even further insulting, the first thing when he came out on stage, he should have apologized, guess he is a little too arrogant for that also, as not a mere mention of an apology.

His music and show was great, but I must say that there was definite mood shift when he kept the crowd waiting for an hour on a Sunday night.

If he ever comes back, I think I will save the $160.00 we paid for premium seats.

I thought the show was "AMAZING". Having seen GM now for the 3rd time in 4 weeks (Las Vegas, Anaheim and now Dallas). My favorite part of the show? It might be "outside" when he came out dressed in the cop uniform. He looked good! That's all Im gonna say!

HOT HOT HOT, he is still hot after all these years!
but honestly, at first I was like " it is almost 9pm & he put promptly at 8pm on his tickets, what a diva! " but when he came out of the middle of the screen, he was worth the wait.

Posted by Melody @ 10:54 AM Mon, Jul 14, 2008

He's still got IT!! WOW! The voice, the moves, the dimples ... everything! The Band is great; effects are incredible! Love him more now than ever! Thanks for the BEST show in 25 years!

vocals were stunning regardless of the airconditioning, the fans were wild, the only let down for me was that he did not sing 'i want your sex'...everything else was spot on. i hope he comes back

Definitely don't put "8 p.m. prompt" if the show isn't going to start until 8:50, but otherwise I loved it. Wish he had done more Wham songs, but I loved the mix of his solo hits, as "The First Time Ever I Saw Your Face," "Feelin' Good," and "Roxanne" were a nice addition. I'm a frequent concertgoer, and GM was well-worth the money.

I had a great time. Good fun, respectful, enthusiastic crowd and an amazing singer. I think he missed an opportunity when he didn't sing I want your sex, that would have been a crowd pleaser. I was also hoping he'd sing his cover of Don't let the Sun Go Down. It's fantastic when he sings that song. But I thoroughly enjoyed it, once we got over the late start. Great job. He should do this more often. He can obviously still pack a big house.

Posted by MRL @ 12:26 PM Mon, Jul 14, 2008

WORTH THE WAIT! In years; but another hour? Come on George don't be cruel. “Prompt" must mean something different across the pond b/c here it meant almost an hour late. I quickly got over it once the show started. GM is still as talented as ever and engaged the crowd. The way he seemed to enjoy himself you'd never know he doesn't care for touring. He was even comedic at times poking fun of himself. The stage set-up (screens) was a little much especially during the ballads but even with all the extra action it was hard not to stay focused on the delightful GM.

Posted by Kayce @ 12:27 PM Mon, Jul 14, 2008

I go to many many concerts every year, and must say this is one of the best I have been to in a long time. Even Billy Joel couldn't keep people standing the entire concert like GM did! It was amazing to hear eveyone singing every single word to every single song,,,I think even he was taken back by it. I guess no one really cares what he does in his private time, there was a lot of love for GM last night. I saw him at the Bronco Bowl in 1984 and this was just as exciting. I danced my booty off!

Posted by Robin S., Plano, TX @ 12:54 PM Mon, Jul 14, 2008

IT WAS AWESOME!!! Went with my almost 21-year-old daughter who cut her teeth on Wham, because it was always playing. And we all know that George was Wham! SHE bought the tickets for us, so there is a whole new generation of GM lovers.

And George just looks like he smells so-o-o good. What an great evening...even up on your feet all night!

Posted by Bo Shirah @ 1:01 PM Mon, Jul 14, 2008

I'm saddened that George Michael's voice has aged so quickly. He sounded so husky. He's lost the vibrant quality in his mid to upper range. That's where the beauty and brilliance of his voice used to be. He's only in his forties. His voice shouldn't sound this old this early. He just can't sing like he used to. The GM voice of the 80's & 90's was my favorite voice of all time....

Posted by Kelly @ 1:01 PM Mon, Jul 14, 2008

Wow! What an amazing show! GM's music has been an integral part of my life, serving as a soundtrack, providing inspiration, and provoking contemplation. Seeing him live was truly moving. I still can't wipe the smile off my face at noon the next day. The crowd was fantastic and I was SO proud of my own 'adopted hometown' for being "the best crowd" thus far on the 25Live tour. You go, Big D!

I LOVED the mix of music - his best work is not necessarily the material everyone could sing along with...and as for the start time...well, in my book he's more than forgiven!!

Posted by Wes @ 1:06 PM Mon, Jul 14, 2008

Awesome show, well worth waiting for!

Sorry there were a few people on here who weren't familiar with his newer stuff, but glad to see the majority of his "full-career" fans responded so well.

While his show started late, I'm surprised by how many people blamed George for it. The artist usually has little to do with what time they arrive at the venue; it's usually the handlers. Not to mention he was obviously having some equipment issues and ended up holding his ear monitor in his hand for an early part of the show. Who knows what was happening back stage before the show.

Also, it's the management company, not the artist, who determines show start time and how that is indicated on the ticket.

Just my two cents.

Posted by jean @ 1:17 PM Mon, Jul 14, 2008

Drove from Austin to see george -- yes, he was a little late, but who cares? my guess is that it wasn't his fault. George was looking a little haggard, but dang if he didn't work his ass off just as he had promised.

Song choice was perfect (glad he left out "wake me up") and thought it was nice to see that he was a bit humbled by the crowd's support. George is definitely showing his age, but don't we all? I thought it was an outstanding show and would pay gobs of money all over again just to see him.

Well done, george. Don't be a stranger.

George- George - George
Bravo -Bravo...Bravo- He started late.. Who cares! He made up for it and promised he would work his @ss off... Isn't that saying I'm sorry for being late?
I wanted the concert to keep going and going !
Hard Day - Flawles- Young Guns
Please come back George!

PS the only thing missing was Andrew Rigley! Europe here I come!

Posted by karenp @ 2:15 PM Mon, Jul 14, 2008

There have been many comments about GM being late but what about the fact that he said he could sing for 3 hours and ended at 11? Does that mean he was singing in his dressing room and we missed it?! My math says that 8:50-11 isn't 3 hours.

Posted by KS @ 2:18 PM Mon, Jul 14, 2008

Went to two of his concerts in the last few weeks and they were worth every penny of the nearly $2,000 I spent on tickets. The best concerts I've attended in my life. The man is a supreme showman and prodigiously gifted singer/songwriter who still greatly outshines most of today's so-called "stars." Just wished he'd done more newer hits - as he did in Europe - and more from Listen Without Prejudice, but American audiences seem to only want the 80s stuff.

Those complaining about the late start shouldn't be targetting Mr. Michael. At all the other venues the concert has started late, but none of the other audiences seemed to have complained so much about it! The fault lies mostly with the audience, most of whom weren't even in their seats at 8:30 at the other venues. How can an artist start his concert when more than half the seats are still empty? People in LA were still parking their cars well past 8pm. But the crowd was patient and enjoyed themselves nonetheless. As someone else mentioned, the artist doesn't really control the start time. What's an hour after a 17-year wait?

Also, the 20-minute break was thoughtful. It allowed people to use the restroom, get snacks etc without having to miss a song. Also cuts down on the number of people walking around during the concert because they want to go outside for something or the other.

Posted by sheelagh @ 2:20 PM Mon, Jul 14, 2008

the late start should have been apologised for, it would have been the decent thing to do. all in all it was an excellent show.

Loved it!!! you know you are in for a good time when the whole arena starts doing the wave before the show starts! This was my first time to see George, and it won't be my last! I'm Your Man was fantastic and totally got the place crazy. His newer songs were really good too and I was impressed that most people were dancing and clapping along nearly the whole night.

Can I just say that this was the best concert I have ever been too.
I have loved him since I was 13. It was 20 yrs ago that I saw him, and it was well worth the wait.
Everything was PERFECT!! A nice blend of new and old music.
I didn't want the night to end..........

Never was a really huge fan of George Michael's, but I do have to say he put on quite a performance last night in Dallas. His show was well worth the drive from Brownwood Texas ! - SH

I have always been a huge fan and was blown away last night by the performance. Great mix of old and new. Will continue to follow George's career and hopefully see him in concert again (God and George willing). - SP

Posted by Geddy Lee @ 7:32 PM Mon, Jul 14, 2008

I took my wife to the show as GM as her favorite "singer." Who cares about the late start--I laughed when I read "8:00 pm prompt" as I have been to hundreds of concerts and very few have started within an hour of down-beat.

I have little interest in his music. My favorite part? There was an incredibly small crowd. We had good parking, and had a section to ourselves. I spent the night crowd-watching, and I believe I was probably one in a handful of a straight males at the show, which made it a little entertaining for me. I was a taken aback a bit by all the f-bombs he dropped. I've seen everything from the Rolling Stones to Black Flag, and heard less f-bombs in all those shows combined. Not sure of his point, unless he feels it makes him more "real", which of course we all know he is simply a "pop-star" who dislikes touring and is only doing so it keep whatever fan-base he has still interested in him. Sorry to be negative, but sometimes the truth hurts.

I have loved George Michael since my first Wham! album (yes, in vinyl). Although we had to wait 17 years and 1 hour, I've never been to a better concert. I would have liked to hear more of the old stuff, but you never hear all the songs you want to hear when you go to a concert. I was so excited to see that George still has his moves!! He worked his *** off and I danced mine off!!! George rocks and always will!!! I just hope it won't be 17 more years. WE LOVE YOU GEORGE!!!!!

Posted by Maritza @ 8:26 PM Mon, Jul 14, 2008

THE CONCERT ROCKED! I agree about the tardiness, but he totally made up for it. The best song of the night would be when he came back and sang Careless Whisper! The night was very unforgettable! Much love for you George Michael! Hope you have another show in Dallas soon!!

Posted by Eddie @ 9:31 PM Mon, Jul 14, 2008

I drove down from OKC to see the show and would do it again in a heart beat. It started late, big deal, if there had been an opening act, you would have had to sit there anyway. He did some music from all 25 years. The lighting and video was the best I've ever seen. He was great, a lot of people around me stood and danced the whole time, man the energy in the place was excellent. Careless Whisper was the Best. George come back soon!

George Michael is truly "AMAZING"
I have followed him since his early Wham days and he continues to amaze me even now! His performance was "FLAWLESS". I just hope this is really not his final concert. To all of his fans that danced with me last night..thank you for making last night the best night ever!!

I have been a great fan of George Michael for a long time and was so thrilled to be able to attend the concert. It was the best concert I've been to. He is simply the best! That voice is so amazing.
I did not mind the late start. He was well worth the wait. It gave my sisters and I a chance to people watch. Doing the wave was so much fun!
I wish he had done more songs off his Listening with Prejudice CD.
I hope he comes back soon.
All in all, a great time was had by all!

Posted by Suz @ 12:35 AM Tue, Jul 15, 2008

I paid $145 for tickets, he had no opening act, and he was super late. So I went in there expecting/needing/demanding that he better bring down the house. And he did. Oh my God he did. To be quite honest if he had just sang Freedom the entire night, I'd be content.

The concert in Dallas last night was Unbeleivable!
GM was as good as he ever was. The man is so talented with the best voice out there....he runs circles around today's supposed artists. I stood for the entire concert and sang to every song. I havn't had that great of a time in years. I still can't stop talking about 24 hrs. later. I feel like a kid again! I went to his concert in 1989 when I was 19 and I was immediately back there as a young, adoreing fan. it doesn't get any better than GM! I am crazy about his music and his talent. I hope we get the opportunity for another incredible performance by GM very soon. He's the best!

Being a gay man who doesn't really discuss his personal life at work, I was actually kind of embarassed to tell my co-workers that I was going to see GM. But the fact that they are all thirty something females just made them jealous. I must have thought they would all laugh and call me a faggot. lol. There were tons of thirty-something females at the show. And they all seemed to be happy to be there.

I like his mellower stuff over his pop songs. I wish he would have sung "you have been loved". But I loved hearing "Everything She Wants". I was up in a cushy box seat all night so I never got up to dance but I was definately dancing in my seat all night.

And in gay time, eight o'clock actaully means nine o'clock. That's how we do things. lol.

Posted by Rusty Howell @ 12:29 PM Tue, Jul 15, 2008

I would have loved to have been at the concert. $160.00 is too expensive for any performer and that was in the back of the lower bowl. 70 dollars would have given obstructive view in the upper level as stated on the ticket site. And to read that 10,000 were in attendance at the AA arena. Someone should have made sure his show was affordable enough to have filled every seat and been sold out. Should have had it at the ampitheatre at the fair grounds and 18000 plus would have been in attendance. Then he could have hit some of those high notes the article stated he missed due to the air conditioning. Guess we will have to wait on the HD channel concert.

My best friend and I drove from Austin to see him and it was worth it. I've waited 25 years to see him, so 45 minutes was not a problem for me! I am a FAITHful fan, always have been. The concert was awesome and I'm still walking around with a smile on my face. This 35 year old woman acted like a 15 year old Sunday night.... I LOVE YOU GEORGE!

I have waited for this since I was a tween and my mom hid my "Faith" cassestte tape!!!! Yes, the show was late, but I was talking to a local and she said NOTHING at that arena starts on time. There were also many ticketholders arriving late due to an accident that caused traffic delays.

George was high energy--he can still move! The backup and band was great and I danced all night!!!! I hope he felt the love from us!!!!!!

The concert was fantastic!! I had the greatest time dancing and singing along to all of his hits. He still is as fine as he was in Wham!! Loved when he sang "I'm your man", He had everyone in our section dancing and on our feet! Wish he would of sang my favorite "Monkey". Thanks for a great evening George. Hope you come back soon!!

What a fantastic and memorable night! I must say it is the best concert I’ve attended so far. GM, the band, the background singers, the video lighting techniques, the energetic audience, the pre-show waving... all were absolutely amazing! I enjoyed and loved every moment of it.

The show was awesome! I saw George back in '88 at Texas Stadium and I have to say, he was even better this time! My friend and I had a blast and especially enjoyed his earlier hits, like "Careless Whisper". Great, great show!!!!

George ROCKED the house Sunday night at AAC!!! My husband and I came up from Georgetown (near Austin). I have been a huge fan since I was a teen and this concert was absolutely "AMAZING". Even my husband had a great time and commented on what a good show George put on! Young, Old, Gay, Straight...everyone was on their feet dancing and singing the whole night. So what if he was late...probably not his fault...it was incredible!! George, you've still got it!!!! Great moves, great voice, and still soooo fine!!!! Come back soon!

What a GREAT show! I was on my feet the whole time, dancing and feeling the great energy he brought out of all in attendance. Wish George would perform live more often! he still has the vocals, moves and his talent to write new songs is still there. Since he also lives here in Dallas, (part of the year) I wished he would make more of an efford and appear (support) local charitable events. Just a thought...He is showcased as headliner with the Turtle Creek Chorale singing back-up @ Meyerson Symphony Center.

Great concert! I agree with most, I was irritated that he was 50 minutes late when I made an extreme effort to be there before 8, but the show was so good, I soon forgot he was ever late for anything!
George had me out of my seat from the first song, and my personal favorite was "Anything she wants...". My main issue was that my box seat wasn't close enough to the stage! I love you George and your performance was Flawless.

This was the best concert I have ever been to - hands down. He was late - big effing deal, as it was worth the wait. 10,000 people - nah, there was more than that...and everyone was up dancing and having a great time. GM is absolutely great and I welcome him back to his adopted hometown anyday.

It was well worth the 17 year wait. George Michael did NOT disappoint any of his fans. Even though the show started an hour late at 9pm, instead of a "prompt" 8pm start on the ticket....it did not take away any of the energy from the crowd. The stage was so cool with all the lights, etc. on this big rolling screen that George also stood on while singing. I was in the nose bleed section, but got a special price for the ticket, so could not complain, and I as well as the whole crowd where up and dancing around for the whole concert. George Michael still has it going on, and he showed that he can still ROCK the house down!!!!

Great show. I am a straight, southern white boy, and this concert is right up there with some of the great shows that have come to Dallas over the past few years. I blame the late start on the late arriving crowd. At 10 til 8 there were many empty seats in the house. No performer wants to play to an empty seats, and it would have been a distraction for those there on time to have people walking over them trying to get to there seats. Dallas crowds are always late crowds.

I guess for Karen and CL the concert sucked, it sucked because you guys are not true fans, I saw him in SD and in Anaheim and paid $200.00 & $450.00 for my tichets and they were worth every penny. Hope he changes his mind about touring. Love to see him again.

I was there back in 1988, right out of school when I first saw him; one of my first shows. 20 years on I have some 1,000 shows under my belt. Nobody dances like George (not Prince), nobody has a stage or light show like him (well, nobody comes to mind), nobody understands the call and response/crowd participation like George Michael. Two and a half hours later, I feel like I worked harder and had more fun than the man himself. And he busted his ass. The most fun I have had at a concert in ages.

Thank you Wes & KS for your insight on the fact that it wasn't George's fault that the show was late. I would have waited another 50 minutes to see this phenomonal concert! Who goes to a concert or any venue and expects it to start on time? Isn't that part of the anticipation anyway? Most people weren't even in their seats at 8:30! GM was absolutely fantastic, and his voice was brilliant. I dragged my husband along who isn't even a fan like me and he thought the concert was amazing. Every song was superb and he is one of the rare artists that can do a cover as good as the original. GM looked so happy and I'm glad he is because he has brought great happiness to my life through his beautiful voice. Come back again George!!
