August 13, 2008During Merle Haggard's recent concert at 420-seat Music City Texas Theater in Linden, Texas, a young man with a video camera kept approaching the stage and shooting the show. But he had permission. Drew Wilson is filming the documentary Bob Wills Ain't Dead, whose interviews include Mr. Haggard, whose own career was greatly influenced by Mr. Wills. Merle agreed to be a part of the film but has also allowed Mr. Wilson's young daughter Savannah to sing on stage with him and the Strangers. It turns out Savannah knows Bob Wills' classic tune "Faded Love." "We are all changed from the experience of traveling the road with this legend," Mr. Wilson writes of Mr. Haggard in a recent e-mail. That's Ariel of the "next big thing" in tweenie pop, the Clique Girlz. The other two are sisters Paris, 12, and Destinee, 14. Read here about how they're about to reach the popularity echelon of Miley Cyrus and Jonas Brothers. Oh boy. Have your kids said anything about these girls yet? Because personally, the first time I'd heard of them is when I saw the headline to the story about them on our Web site this morning. It's the company's third year in a row making the list, and of course, New York is No. 1 for the third year in a row. Dallas fell from being listed at No. 7 on last year's list. (Hartford (!) took that spot.) The top three concerts in Dallas were Radiohead (5/18), Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers (8/27) and the ubiquitous Jonas Brothers (7/9). (Jonas Brothers by Rex C. Curry/The Dallas Morning News) The entry "It's official: Dallas rocks!" is tagged: Dallas , Jonas Brothers , Radiohead , shows , StubHub , tickets , Tom Petty Are you still hoping some mythical record-label Mr. Big will sign you?
