Mary,
According to the American Airlines Center website, Coldplay has two opening acts - Sleeper Car and John Hopkins. Show time is 7:30 p.m. So I would take a good guess and say that Coldplay won't be on until 9 p.m.
Spectacular. It was stadium show crammed into an arena. Lasers, confetti cannons, glowing orbs and anthemic rock songs. The part where they went over & performed in section 116 was really cool, too. The drummer is excellent. It's like "Coldplay starring Chris Martin, featuring Will Champion; also starring some other dudes."
It was a great concert, one of the best I've been to. I ilked that Chris Martin really tried to connect to the audience and going up into the stands to do a couple of songs was nice.
It was a good show, even from up in 312. My only complaint is I didn't much care for the ghoulish "dance versions" of GPASUYF and Talk. That was very cool when they played a few songs in the upper bowl.

Great show, except they "Techno" versions of "God Put a Smile" on Your Face and "Talk" were disappointing, two of my favorites and they messed them up. Rest of the show was great!
First of all, the techno versions of God Put a Smile and Talk were a throw back to the 80s, they were inventive and incredibly creative. I absolutely enjoyed that part of the concert and appreciated the fact that these guys constantly strive to push the creative bar higher.
The show was in my top 3 of best shows. I've seen Coldplay every time they've come to Dallas and this show was their absolute best. They're on top of their game and as an avid concert goer and a person who loves live shows, I honestly can say they were truly, truly dazzling!

It's really disappointing that DMN hasnt done an official review over one of the greatest and most respected bands in the music industry. The concert exceeded all my expectations. I cannot wait to see them again in concert.
It was the most amazing show ever! I've seen them twice before and they continue to get better and better. They never cease to amaze me with their love and passion for everything they do! It was the coolest thing watching everyone around me be as happy and in to it as I was. They definitely impact their fans and leave a lasting impression and how empowering they are as a band!
Not to mention the fact that Chris Martin is beautiful!

Loved the show; I took my 14 year old son who is a huge fan. We agreed that at times, Chris Martin, mirrored Mick Jagger, with his stage hopping and overall energy.
We liked opening act, Sleeper Car...but were annoyed with the 2nd act, John Hopkins. The techno music and accompanying screen show was downright weird....throwback to the LSD period. Of course if you were high or drunk, I'm sure this act pleased you...
We loved Coldpaly
Great show...band seemed to start slow and the big songs early (Clocks, Speed of Sound, In My Place) seemed to be lacking, They would finally kick it up a notch and cruise to an easy victory. Liked how they attempted to change the songs they did sorta techno style (I didn't care for them) but it is neat to see an artist try something even if the crowd may not like it. I blame some lack of enthusiasm on the Dallas crowd. They really never seemd to get too loud or fully engaged in it. Maybe because it was a Wed. night or they still had work, school, etc. on their mind. Great show nonetheless. Thanks Coldplay.

Amazing show!! I agree with some of the others about the techno versions. I would have loved to hear those songs the way they are recorded. But over all an amazing time!

I was really impressed with their performance. But Chris Martin's voice was far too weak to contend with the echo of the instruments. Also I loved how they play to the crowd and try to please their fans by their relocation during the Scientist. I actually enjoyed their techno renditions. Shows their versatility.
I freakin loved the concert,it was my 1st time to see them live and they sounded just like they do on an album. I actually did like the techno remixes to the song its something different and they nailed it!! I LOVE CHRIS MARTIN!!!

Coldplay will never, ever, ever match up to great acts like U2, Aerosmith, Metallica, KISS, and other great arena rock bands. I also thought Foo Fighters, Bon Jovi, and AC/DC are better shows of late.
And Romo, Witten and the fair-weather celebrity "fans" of some these bands, only showing up for the big shows just to be seen, makes them look like d-bags.

It was a fantastic show. I've seen them in a different setting one time prior (ACL Festival), so the AAC was definitely a different kind of show b/c of the venue, but it was awesome nonetheless.
Side note: Does anyone know what "celeb" was sitting in section 106? Everyone was pointing and taking pictures, but I couldn't tell who it was.
What show was the DMN reporter at? Shiver? C'mon dude.
Excellent show, I'm still reeling from it. Who know's where to find that techno version of Viva La Vida they played while Coldplay was walking back to the stage?
My teen age kids and I were in the back row on the very top about 45 minutes before the concert and they moved us to the FRONT ROW! We are still in euphoric overload. A dream come true.

Hey, so I just made a piczo site and it looks so awesome but it seemed that something was missing. Than I realized I should add some music so my friend recommended a really cool site.www.hypster.com. It's so quick and easy, anyone could do it! In a matter of minuets I had made a account and uploaded the music onto my music player, not only that but You can also edit your music player to match your site colours! and if you don't want to upload your own music, you can search on other users playlists and take any songs you want! It works for piczo, myspace, facebook, bebo etc. check it out! www.hypster.com
Excellent show. Did anyone notice Chris Martin's face after coldplay left sect 116 in the back of acc. Chris looked like he either ran into a wall or a bunch of kissing bandits. The right side of his face had red marks all over it. I was pretty far back and could only see him on the big screen.
Someone with in the choice seats have any info?

Absolutely fabulous show! I had a great view of the stage... I was a little disappointed that we didn't hear Glass of Water from the new ep... Oh well... I think the little piano interlude he played is featured on Prospekt's. Techno versions were cool, my girlfriend hated it. Never seen the AAC so packed...

Went to the show...had a GREAT time! Now when I listen to Viva la Vida I can picture them live on stage! I thought the show was short though. 90min was not enough for even the faintest Coldplay fan. I realized the reason for the short show was that Gwenyth was there...standing barely 5ft behind me in the sound stage area. I blame the show ending 'early' on her... :-)
I'm a huge fan, this is the 3rd show I've seen on this tour and the Dallas crowd was by far the quietest and most uninspired crowd yet. The band gets more engaged when the crowd is singing along loudly and there were parts when Chris would pause waiting for the crowd to respond and it just wasn't happening. They sang Square One, Glass of Water and Yes at the other 2 shows I saw, and they did not sing any of those Weds night. Show was great however

Coldplay's show at the Honda Center in Anaheim far out-shined the Dallas performance. If the crowd responds, the band will reach a higher level...gotta get loud Dallas!
i saw them last night. before the concert, i was thinking that i might just get dissapointed because coldplay isnt my favorite band. BUT I WAS WRONG. it was the best concert i have ever been to!! (and ive seen a lot of concerts)
the lighting was AMAZING, especially when they started to play "speed of sound". i was stunned by how pretty the confetti was during "lost". i was sitting all the way up, but it wasnt so bad because the band made an effort by performing on the top box. although im going to have to agree with the other replies..god put a smile on your face is one of my favorite coldplay songs, and i wish they didnt perform the techno version. HOWEVER, its great how the band gets soooo creative. it would be boring if they didnt twist things a bit :)
5 STARS!! or 6 even! this concert made me love them even more :)
As exciting as the concert was, I really couldn't feel most of their songs. It pained me to see a band I respect so much "experiment" their way into superficiality.
Honestly, they played too much from their new album. The only played "Yellow" from Parachutes. No Coldplay fan I've ever talked to even talks about "Yellow." "Don't Panic," "Spies," and "Trouble" all catch my attention far easier. I'm also getting a bit perturbed at Martin's one-man act. What the heck? There are four people in the band dude - sit down every now and then. This could have been presented a lot better - esp. for the exorbitant ticket prices.
Jon Hopkins was a pleasant surprise, however. Even though my dad prodded about his lack of stage performance, I hadn't even heard of this guy who added my fav. elements into "Life in Technicolor" and "Escape." I recommend everyone check him out.
Missed Sleepercar - had to come up from Austin, so things just didn't work out. Everyone else is saying they were alright though.
They were awesome! (prediction)
Does anyone know what time Coldplay will really start tonight? Is there a warm-up band?

I saw the show from the floor and it was just as good as the last tour. Coldplay are entertainers for sure.

Did the DMN reviewer even go to the show?? They did not play "Shiver" at all; and the butterflies dropped during "Lovers in Japan."
Either way, stupendous show!!
